In my writing class, we have to do a presentation. It is contest to see who gets the most votes for best one, and the winner gets to perform on the schools news. I really want this. It has to be a monologue descriptive scene, evoking a certain mood. What should I be describing? (Most people in my class are doing a scary story)

So don't do a scary story .... your class will be bored with the third one.

How about :

Comedy (It's a hard one, but with a bit of practice go for it)
Depression (just sit on a chair with your head down, hands between your legs, look morbid and let it flow)
Fear (but not like scary. Say maybe your first job interview, or you've just banged up your dad's car)
Love (like you are talking to youself about the new man in your life)
Anger (you're telling your dad off because he shouldn't have given you the car to drive in the first place and you reckon that it's his fault that you backed into the garage door without opening it first)

Heaps of things you can do .... .but not a scary scene ... cause everyone else is doing it and it could get really boring.

One hint here ...... DON'T TELL THE OTHERS WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO.

Good luck

What about the scene in Anne of Green Gables when Anne makes a very over-the-top dramatic apology to the neighbour. It is really hilarious. And if the others are all doing scary, funny will be something different - a pleasing anti-dote to fear.
