Teacher here...we've heard them all before. Frankly, we probably don't care that much either.

The excuse given will be inadequate to what you have lost and cannot justify it.

All we will think is how silly you were to waste the opportunity and the money and how much more difficult it will be for you to get the material into your head that you need to get. All you have accomplished is make it more likely that you will get a mediocre or failing grade.

Moreover, hearing excuses do not soften me, I still expect my students to pass my exams.

So what do you gain by telling a story about why you haven't attended? Even if the teacher buys it, who loses/lost? You did. The teacher already learned this material, gets paid whether you are there or not and has other students who want to be there to worry about.

Try and tell the truth sometimes thats best way I've done it a couple of times and teachers tend to look at me disappointed but its done now,u can't go back in time so if u go monday at least ur not taking another week off.

if you are paying for the class you dont owe an excuse. Just say personal reasons that you would rather not talk about. Just try to get caught up on your work..good luck

If the class is in English grammar, spelling and punctuation I would strongly recommend that you return as soon as possible.

I hope you repay a month's worth of your course fees. There are no valid excuses for 'playing hookie' for a MONTH or more!!!!

No matter what excuse you use, your teacher will know if you are lying.
