The book which is called The Da Vinci Code is written by the author who is Dan Brown. It is a novel which is just a fiction and fiction means a story that came from the imagination of the author. It is called noble story when it is a long story for something and consisting of many chapters. He gained some knowledge about Jesus by reading the bible maybe and because he is a writer of nobles and books, he added things that are no truth on it to convince people believe it and to attract those who are interested to buy the said book, for him to earn money in case the said book will become the best book to be sold. Your way of thinking is not yet matured. You are like a boy who is beginning to understand what he is reading.

The book is fictional, and there is not any evidence that tie Leonard Da Vinci to jesus in any way, just one writer with an active imagination and delusions of selling ideas for a lot of money.

Well, contrary to many of the earlier answers, while the storyline of Dan Brown's book was fictional, many of the premises in the book are historically accurate. So, don't take the fact that the main plot of the book was fiction to mean the whole book is fiction.

For example, the whole part of the book at Sir Lee Teabing's mansion was very accurate. The discussion about the creation of christianity by the Council of Nicea was correct. Constantine was a life long pagan, as were most in the Roman Empire of that time. Christianity was debated, voted on, and finally sanctioned in an attempt to save a quickly falling apart Roman Empire.

He also read from gospels that are not included in the bible. Many gospels were not included in the bible because they painted jesus more as a man than a divine being. And, yes, there are many that state that jesus was married, and had offspring.

Many of the assertions and challenges stated in the book have been around for a long time. So, no, these things were not just "found out" at the time of the writing of the book. What the book did was get those ideas into mainstream society. Most of society's knowledge of christianity, and its history, is learned from their time in church. Churches teach a very limited view of their own history. So, what you have now, is a very "watered down" version of christianity's history. Most of the negative is left out, and only the popular/ accepted interpretations of its history is taught to its followers.

An example of negative history left out is the Malleus Maleficarum, or The Witches Hammer. This book called for the killing of anyone thought to be a witch. Of course, their idea of a witch was any woman who attempted to enlighten herself with knowledge. I would be willing to bet most Catholics know nothing about this book, published by the very church they attend.
What you have to remember is that most of the time that th learned history of civilization is written by the "winner". So, many times it is not very accurate. The Catholic Church, for most of modern history, was the "winner"(meaning they were the most powerful entity around). Their version of their own history was taught. But, in the background, a much more accurate history has always been in circulation. But, that version of history is not well known.

If you want to prove this fact, anyone who regularly attends church needs to only go around and ask people about the Council of Nicea. See how many people even know what you are talking about.

No in fact I saw a program that showed the drawings of the "last supper" from Da vinci. ON the back he had written eash persons name from the painting. And on Jesus' right he wrote John. John was a young man then.
End of story.

That my friend is a good question. The Last Supper was painted 1400 years after the fact. So we can rule out personal relationship. Or is Da Vinci getting used by someone who has a hidden agenda and is trying to instill their beliefs on us? Everything that we know about Jesus Christ is in the Bible. It was written by people that knew Him personally. There are many first century historians that make reference to Jesus Christ also, and we know that they weren't believers. So, is someone trying to keep you from your true inheritance? I believe that they are.

No, it's fiction...as Dan Brown states at the beginning of his book. He uses real places and some real things...but he uses them in purely fictional ways and added a whole lot of "mystery" that's not really there.
