i would forgive in the sense that i would not allow myself to remain continuously angry about something over which i have no control. what's done is done. i would not forgive in the sense of pretending she did nothing wrong and therefore condoning her action.

I'm a Christian, and yeah, you should forgive this person. I know how hard it is to forgive someone. I came from a broken home. My father deserted my mother when she was pregnant with me, and I have never seen him. I've been sexually abused as a child. I've had people hate me for no apparant reason. I've learned how to turn to God for everything I need, and it gives me a whole lot of peace in my life. Even though these people are not in my life now, I choose to forgive them. How can I be
forgiven for all my sins, if I can't forgive others? Oh, and never say, "I'll forgive, but I wont forget" Because if you don't forget, then you are not really forgiving.

A definite absolutely. The bible says that we are to forgive one another, no matter what that person did to you, and whether or not that person meant to do you wrong. If the man upstairs sent his son down to earth to die for us so that we all could forgiven, then it's only right that we forgive other people that do us wrong. The reason being is that when you forgive, not only do you forget whatever happened, you also have peace of mind knowing that you did the right thing. More importantly, the man upstairs gives you a blessing in return for doing the right thing. I'm a christian.

Forgiveness is a personal responsibility. You are either willing to forgive or you are not. The gain received from forgiving a person is spiritual. If you forgive others, then God will forgive you. Getting into the habit of forgiving others will make life a lot more peaceful for you.

Religion: Inner spirituality and morals (I believe you don’t have to be in a church or a group to get recognition from above, the recognition is deep inside you)

Some time you can forgive, the question is what this person has done to you and does it affect you in the long term? If this person has violated your rights and physically harmed you then no forgiveness is not what it’s all about. It’s about getting a true apology from the person and if you can’t get that you need to find forgiveness in yourself not for the person but for your own sake. The only thing in this world you need, is respect for yourself and you need to be respecting of all other people. The reason for this is I believe we are all born as a pure un sinned life form and we all have a bright light in us that sometimes shines brightly to the world and sometimes it is covered with horrible experiences maybe from child hood or they feel they don’t belong or their doing something wrong, they contiously go out to hurt people to make up for this or they subconsciously unintetully doing this. So you don’t need to forgive you need to understand it really is their problem deep down in the middle of it all.
After that you need to protect yourself from feeling hatred to this person because while you have this energy toward the person you are subcontusly not putting the energy in to other things that may be important for you in the long term of your life.

I hope this helps and if not we can talk.

ps, it doesn’t matter wat religion you are from it just matters what you believe in truly, we can go to church and learn their teachings but everyone has different morals and values and points of views on things , your god will forgive you whether or not you forgive this person because your god is internally YOU

what happened? my answer would depend on the circumstance.
generally i believe in tic for tac, where you always give people the benefit of the doubt until they screw you over, but as soon as they try to make peace, follow suit. forgiveness can be a very beneficial thing. however if they will only hurt you, and take pride in that, i suppose its best to just forget about them. if hurting you was worth the cost of a friendship, than they arent worth your time, and its good to have learned this about them now rather than later.

does she know that she hurt you? was it intentional, or indirect? is this a friend or lover? now im curious =D

No, not unless the person have atoned for the deed. In other words, gives
credit where credit is due, and straightens up the mess if the person has caused
one. "The Ten Commandments". Forgiveness is for those who respect others, their space and their property.

Forgiveness is necessary because Father God requires it. I will receive forgiveness from Him if I am willing to forgive.

Yes, you can but true fogiveness requires God's help. You must realize that no matter how a person has treated you, God loves them. He died for them as well as you. Then you pray for them.

But the ultimate good that comes from forgiveness is that you mature spiritually, you deepen your relationship with Christ. You learn to turn to him and offer it up instead of allowing anger, revenge or hurt to consume you.

If some one is proud of his/her evil act, must be punished. Forgiveness is for those who feel ashamed or seek pardon.
Forgiving is the act of God, that's why it has great reward, if we also do as our ultimate Lord does.
