Its suppose to make a clicking noise when you turn them on. But if you have a datch instead of a dash. Then you better return the car.

Go to your local pontiac dealer and get your vehicle checked to see if its covered by the recall for the turn signalflasher/hazard switch. There were a few years of grand ams that had this problem and there is a recall. If it does apply then it wil be fixed for you. If not then you will have to buy the hazard flasher switch and install it. They are easy to install. Just pull the trim off from around the radio. The round trim from around the key will pop off to. Then you have to remove the switch from the trim and reinstall everything after you put in the new switch. You should be good to go.

You need a new hazard switch/flasher assembly. They usually still work as designed but they will click when nothing is going on as far as signalling. There was a recall from GM regarding this issue, but I don't know if it is still valid. Whatever, just replace the whole thing as it is pretty easy to do. Good luck.

check with dealer to see if your car is involved with flasher recall, you can check by calling your dealer but be sure to have your vin number ready to give them so they can look it up on gmvis. vin number is located on the drivers side of the dash by looking thru the windshield. very easy to replace if not covered as described above.
