Today we are all soo willing to blame God for illness and death and destruction and accidents, but i dont see how ' a hand of god' type thing could come down and scoop people up to safety, i believe that God is indeed trying to save us. By giving us the resorces and passion and ideas on how we can fix the mess we have made, isnt that enough to save us? i mean we have the wealth, and the skills but still continue to be selfish and expect God to fix the o-zone and beat terrible diseases.
Does anyone share similar views or think differently?

I suppose such a view is informed by a Christian perspective. Prof. Jackson of Michigan University gave the example of another faith tradition where the idea of God is to be blamed would have been unthought of.Obviously, humanity has been given the responsibility to run this place (being at the top of the food chain and all...) so I guess we have no choice but to make this place better. Even so, perhaps NASA will one day find that civilizational breakthrough and allow colonies to be build on Mars..... One can always hope right?

Why do you think the human race is that important....Have a look at history. The race will die out, and something else will pop up after a few hundred million years, and start asking the same questions. I can think their for I must be special and important. The planet is quite happy turning, every now and then their may be an earth quake, or a volcano even a meteor strike. Its called nature.

We do need to take responsibility for our actions... Do you know the adage 'god helps those who help themselves?' Sadly, part of the trouble is divisiveness... you can't really say that the human race is pulling together to save itself. Still, how can we lead if not by example?

I don't blame god for the state of the human race though- we are where we are through our own actions, and there's no-one else to blame...

President George Bush is an achieved guy. He graduated Yale, flew fighter jets and ran a useful significant league baseball team. He replaced into governor of Texas and replaced into re-elected by skill of a great margin. He won acclaim from liberals for his skill to artwork with them. It wasn't till he reached the poisoned air of Washington DC and the national Liberal Biased Media that he without notice grew to become the liberals popular enemy. Now that he's dealing with the insanity from liberals on a daily foundation, it rather is greater obtrusive than ever that he's a huge President.

Yes! God is love. God is good! He created us to fellowship with Him. He doesn't need us, we need Him. We need to stop blaming God and others for our mistakes. We all know right from wrong. When we take our first breath, we start learning. Man has created the problems we are encountering today. STD's from sexual perversion, poison foods from contaminates & pesticides. The list goes on & on. God gives us warnings, we just choose to be ignorant. Shame on us.

Agreed!! It is up tp 'humankind' to save the planet, become more tolerant, stop the wars, stop the hatred, help others, stop the greed, become more tolerant, instigate love, peace and happiness. Save the planet, stop consuming, stop consumerism, equal pay for ALL, sensible house prices, become aware of the stupidity of reality TV, to stop 'fast food', to stop destroying the Amazon. The list is endless, sadly 'humans' have known about all these problems for some time now and did nothing, only a minority do something - the majority are too dumb and stupid to care!!!

Responsibility is more than most want to swallow. Too big a pill, to easy to blame someone else.

If there is a God (& I like to think there is), he gave us free will & that means we have to be responsible for our actions. Also, God helps those who help themselves so we have to make a bigger effort.
