I need to correct the previous answer. A 0 EFC means that you MAY qualify for Federal Pell Grant as long as you are otherwise eligible (you don't already have a degree, you haven't been convicetd of a drug related offense, you don't owe a refund on a previous grant, etc.).
There is no bearing on scholarship eligibility, but you may qualify for grant aid from your state if you meet residency requirements. You may also receive grant money from your school if they have a need based grant program. Some state schools and community colleges do not offer institutional funds.
Best to check with your aid office for specifics in terms of what they offer.
Email me with more specific questions if you have any.
EDIT: Just to clarify, a scholarship is merit based, a grant is need based.

EFC is short for Estimated Family Contribution. The lower the score is the better thing for a college student. An EFC of 0 means that the expected family contribution will be zero or nothing. It means that you will qualify for Pell Grants, college scholarships from the school, and work study if you checked the box.

I don't speak fluent financial aid, but I believe it means that your equivalent family contribution is zero.
Please check with your FA counselor whenever you have a question about your FA. Every college has different policies and every college charges a different tuition. It is always better for you to go to your counselor with questions. I've seen too many students accept bad advice from a friend when they should have gone to the source.
