Was she in the dryer while the dryer was ON, or just trapped in there? If the dryer was on, you *have* to get her to the vet - I know it'd be hard with her so scared, but she could have all kinds of internal injuries, burns, etc. The pain would also explain her panic.
If she was just trapped in there for an extended period of time, she'll probably come around. Let her hide, but sit quietly in the room where she's hiding and talk to her soothingly, or read something to her - it doesn't matter what, it's the calm sound of your voice that's important.
Try to play with her with "distance" toys, like those fishing rod things. Shower her with treats.
Be patient, and give her time. She has a lot of shock to get over.
Oh, and make sure your parents have a VERY serious talk with your brother - but they probably already did.
P.S.: If she doesn't calm down at all, go to the vet. There are meds that might help her - kind of like "kitty Prozac" (totally different from Prozac for humans, of course. These should be the very last resort, though.

If your cat was in the dryer any longer than two or three minutes it would have been burned very badly if not dead.
Something just does not seem right about this, sounds like your brother put the cat in the dryer AFTER the clothes were dry and not before...there IS NO WAY your cat went through an entire dryer cycle and came out without a mark on him.

The best thing you and everyone else in your house can do is be as nice as you can to the kitty, even if it is mean and nasty. Talk soothingly to it, be kind, don't make any sudden movements, and give treats for good behavior. Keep being nice to the kitty no matter what. Be patient, and don't force the cat to be interactive with anyone, because it will take some time to relieve the trauma the kitty went thru. If possible, you should take kitty to the vet to make sure there are no serious injuries.
As far as your little brother goes, I would highly suggest that your parents should consider taking him to a child therapist, at least once. I knew a girl once who had a little brother who KILLED a kitten, parents took him to a therapist, and it ended up he had a LOT of mental problems no one was aware of. It is well known that people who kill and abuse other people often start out as children who abuse animals, and go untreated. It's best you and your family nip this problem in the bud before it gets much worse.

Your cat is going to be scared for quite awhile. Just keep food and water out for it and let it hide all it wants. It will take awhile before it feels like socializing again. But it will. You are lucky that you cat lived through this experience. Your little brother should be punished. That was cruelty to an animal.

I had a Siamese kitten that did no longer like my husband. He hissed, cried, scratched, bit or ran every time he got here close to. I had him feed the cat and basically refer to him and gently puppy him slightly mutually as he replaced into distracted ingesting. It basically took 3 days and my husband grew to become the cat's popular guy or woman. i've got helped calm different cats with comparable nutrition distraction with a fave nutrition or manage and by the years decrease the quantity of nutrition and increasing the quantity of interest. enable the kitten to go away if he insists and attempt back later so he does not experience "trapped" or compelled to bear what's uncomfortable. If he's familiar with he's loose to go he will adapt greater advantageous.

it's completely understandable that the cat is acting this way. the cat will need a lot longer then 4 days to come around, you just need to be patient, and loving. but not over bearing.

Your cat is lucky to be alive. I don't blame him for being terrified of people. It may take years to re-establish his trust in humans. Your brother needs to be kept away from animals before he kills one.

Give it time! It was a shock. Make sure she is OK healthwise, and give her lots of love and soft talking and nice foods, etc. She will get over it eventually!
