either we worship Him for eternity like some kind of lobotomized knave or we get to burn in Hell.

When Mankind was created, we were not designed for death. Earth was meant to be our heaven on earth. With sin, a change in plans was created. So, we now have a choice to make. God loves us enough to tell us about it and warn us of our consequences for our sins.

It is kind of like this: If an evil person were to drain a swimming pool and fill it up with corrosive acid, wouldn't you want somebody to warn you against swimming in that pool.

Yet, you scoff and mock those that tell you about hell. You deride those you disagree with and call them lobotomized knaves.

Richard Sigmund wrote a book: A Place Called Heaven. It it, he talks about the things he saw in heaven (he was in a car wreck and pronounced dead. After 8 hours, we woke up in the morgue).

I would suggest you read it. In the book, you will find out that Heaven is filled with everything but lobotomized knaves.

You are not getting it, and that's O.K. not many people do. It's about a love relationship that was severed way back when. Whenever we worship and praise Him, or spend our time and money on Him, we are showing Him how much we love Him. He blesses us back in many ways. That's what relationship is all about. Hell was designed for the fallen angels, Adam chose to disobey God and that became our appointed destination. But the good news is that God has had a plan of Salvation to bring us back to our rightful place. He doesn't want that anyone should perish. if we repent, are baptized by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ, we will be washed clean from our sins. Then He will fill us with His Spirit with the evidence of speaking in an unknown language, this is to overcome any disobedience in our lives. Then we will get to spend Eternity with Him, as opposed to the other extreme. I did this back in 1999 and I never looked back. I was an ordinary person, working in a Foundry. The work was hard and I partied harder. Then children came along, failed relationships, you know, the usual things that life has in store for us. Then I got into a Bible Study to help me find my way through it and look things up. I got to know more about this Christian God that they call Jesus Christ. Now I can wake up sobre (I haven't done that in 25+ years) with my head held high, no more guilt or shame. It is just wonderful knowing Jesus. He is the ultimate everything!! I say this because He did a miracle in my life and I know that He wants to do one in your life as well!!

I think somewhere along the line God got a bad rap. It is like our mother used to tell us, if you don't behave I am going to tell your father, when he comes home, and he is going to give you a sound whipping.

My mom used to tell us this, to keep us in line and when she told dad (sometimes), he would "castigate" us for her benefit, while winking at us and smiling behind her back. I am sure she knew what was going on, since they loved and respected each other dearly.

He didn't tell us that we should continue doing what was wrong, but later on he would tell us that he realized that as youngsters, we could not be angels.

I think the fault is with the messengers.

Not a choice. It is an ultimatum. There is no such thing as free will with relation to god.

I'm assuming by the tone in your question that you really don't believe this is true.It seems you are implying that god is in fact somewhat of a "human." I believe we can not fathom "God" in our current existence. So, "God," is not the one who has put us up to this "unpleasant choice," but it is our misinterpretation of god that has challenged us to this. God is not some guy who we are supposed to figure out and identify with, but a state of being that we are trying to remember.

i think there is still the option to opt out, it is fairly apparent that god does not exist, even if he did why do you have to live in fear of eternal damnation to be a good person and live a good life, it could be said that i have christian values coz i see there is a good message in the bible, it outlines a good way to live, but there is no god my 'immortal soul' will not burn for eternity in the fires of hell if i stray from the path.

God love us but Satan tempted you to do unpleasant things and you chose now to be unpleasant.

Your concern amazes me. For someone who says they don't believe in God , you do have an over-active curiosity about Him.
