144,000 is a positive whole integer. It has a religious significance for Christians because of its use in the Book of Revelation of the New Testament. It is also significant in some New Age religious movements.

What I've always found fascinating is that the Jehovah's Witnesses are the most aggressive proselytizers and yet they believe there are only 144,000 seats on the magic carpet to Heaven.
If I thought the odds were that heavily stacked against me, the LAST thing I'd be doing is recruiting competition!

You won't find individual names. The Watchtower Society claims to know who a lot of them are however, at least from the modern day viewpoint. There are 12,000 from each tribe of spiritual Israel.

The list is waiting for the beginning of the time of Jesus Christ. He gets to be the first to see the list. Read Revelations to clarify.
