We in Germany created the Baas party which was Saddam´s. The party was created by Nazi Germany, the same way you in the US created the Talibans (ask Jimmy Carter). And then several Western countries (US+major European ones) equipped Saddam with weapons while at the same time we sold through South Africa (which we had a trade embargo with because of the Appartheid) weapons to Iran in order to destabilize the government that did and undid according to oil interests (ask Cheney he knows a lot about...).
Before asking how those people happen, we should check wether we´re not earning out of our seeds !!! Maybe we western nations are through our governments the biggest *ssh@les of the world...

You may find more wannabees, but a Saddam is someone who has a long history and a well established power base, someone who has long since eliminated all his rivals and proven to be stronger.
Facing reality is not a matter of supporting or not supporting this particular war. The human condition may change over thousands of years, not five years. The best we can do is fight to push problems into the future, but each action you take has unintended consequences, as does inaction.

The mindset in the Middle East will create more Saddams. These people are so busy fighting each other and that's why Saddam was in power for over 30 years.

The USA will cause more terrorist. The war in Iraq is wrong and we will lose in the long run. Just like Vietnam.

There will be many more; wannabe's, as suggested above. Just as there are wannabe Hitlers in Germany to this day, as well as in this country. They bear watching, but are not really capable of effective action.
