any sort of depression can be tide over by faith in GOD and sincere prayer.
Your prayer is from your heart. Further You must have to understood the fact that God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.
Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation

If it's a situation that you have to face repeatedly, create a list. Write down every worst case scenario you can think of. (First, you have to answer the question of, "What am I nervous about?"). After the list is done, spend time 'living' through each potential situation. Write another list that states how you feel now, how bad off you are, if you can continue living etc. Now decide the probability based on the actual # of times such a situation has happened (either in your life or from statistics somewhere).
Facing the reality of the problem and of what's leading to your feelings can really help.
I take a xanax or a couple shots of rum with some norco - these tend to help. :P

I would say DON'T calm down. I used to have to speak in frount of people once or twice a week- sometimes with 200+ people or more. I found that I didn't want to calm down- I wanted to take those nurves and make them work for me.
Being nervous can give you more energy- just when you start to feel the nervs taking over- take a moment to think about what your doing and start to convert them in to energy to do what you want to do. forse yourself to get excited!
that's how it worked for me. And even now I sort of like the feeling when I get nervous- because it means I will have more powe when I speek. It just took me a long time to learn now to use it- but it was well worth it for me.
Good Luck!

Kneel down, buttocks touching your heels and touch the floor with your forehead, hands on floor palms facing upwards; breathe deeply and slowly for 3 minutes.

I've always been told to concentrate on my breathing, making sure it's slow and even. Or start counting things: people, tiles, chairs, whatever's around.
