It's primarily the kidneys that water flushes toxins from.
However, you can drink too much water as well as too little.
A sign of regular thirst it is said, means you are already dehydrated.
It is easy not to drink enough in winter; but, you need still 8-10 glasses of water a day; anything else is processed as a food by the kidneys and will give some water (veggitables) but not like water.
For helping the liver w/toxins, Milk Thistle is best to start with.
It strengthens the liver while it detoxes it.
I get mine at CVS bec. I can still order a time-release one; works best for me.
Research it at a health food store; if you are ever serious about a liver detox consult an alternative nutritionist, chiropractor, or naturopath. And, make sure you are not on any anti-depressants, or other serious medication. Any serious detox would have to be in coordination w/that doctor as well, bec. you wouldn't want to alter the chemical balances in your brain; or the effects of say a heart medication.
Chinese Medicine and Native American Medicine consider the Spring the best time to detox the liver; the colon in the fall.

Drinking about 2 1/2 litres of clear, not alcoholic fluid a day is fine. More if it is hot out, you are exercising vigorously, or have a fever. The toxin/detox idea is just one of today's quack health kicks. It has no real basis in neither medicine nor science.

yes, water always cleans your body. but the liver has over 300 different type of chemicals, maybe I am wrong...

beware of alcoholic beverage, if you drink alcoholic too much like 6-12 beers a day, it will destory chemicals and will rotten your liver in 20-30 years later from now.

No, it may help your general health, but an unquenchable thirst is a sign of diabetes.
