Salmonella poisoning seems to be a favourite here recently. It is entirely possible for you to pass it on to him. Did you give your son a hug when you were ill? Kiss him? Touch him at all? Salmonella enteriditis is a very persistant little bug. If it is salmonella food poisoning, then I would expect him to get better within 72 hours of you writing this question because that it the approximate average lengh of infection.
You need to make sure he drinks lots of water, and try him on toast. Failing that an energy drink is a good way of giving him glucose. If after 72 hours he is showing no obvious signs of improvement, and starts having other symptoms like fever and a headache, then take him along to your GP/local doctor.

My guess is that you didn't have salmonella, but an ordinary gastroenteritis or "stomach flu" virus; they're VERY contagious. If you're absolutely certain that you had salmonella (certain as in you were diagnosed by a doctor), then there's a good chance he caught his bug someplace else; if you don't know with certainty that you specificially had salmonella, then he probably just caught his "bug" from you. Make sure both of you are well-hydrated (Gatorade is great for stomach flu); he can take Tylenol if he's able to keep it down. Even if he throws the Gatorade right back up, at least he will be absorbing a little of it. If either of you reaches the point of dehydration (tenting of skin, confusion, lethargy), it's time to get to an ER and let them give you IV fluids until you fight off the bug.

If the bacteria was present on your person and your child came into contact with that bacteria via a kiss or even got it on his hands and then he ate something without washing his hands. It is highly possible that he got sick this way.
When my child gets sick the hospital is the first stop for me because for all I know his appendix could have ruptured and that can be fatal if going untreated. Always be paranoid when it comes to your child's health because it's better to be overprotective and safe than sorry.
You should also check for food recalls in the areas that you do your shopping. There has been a recent rash of recalls with everything from lettuce and bagged spinach, to peanut butter. Which is a very scary thing since most of us feed these things to our children on most school days.
Google can provide you with sites where you can search recent FDA recalls.

possible it may be something right in that refridgerator. go check everything.. hopefully he didnt drink from a cup you had or maybe it somehow got transferred on the counter or table surface and definately it can be caught this way. ( like he touched a spot on the counter or door knob or counter that had the virus and he ended up not washing his hands before he ate. yes get him checked out... I hope he feels better soon.. make sure he gets plenty of fluids even if it keeps comming up. A doc could suscribe a supossitory to stop vomting so hes able to keep fluid down so he doesnt get dehydrated.

No way. Salmonella is only contracted through ingestion. However, if you were sick and didn't wash your hands properly, then touched food he ingested, you could have inadvertantly spread it. He cannot have contracted it from you if you were careful and washed your hands properly (at least a minute of foaming and rinsing, making sure to get all the crevises). If you got it from a contaminated food that you prepared, you would have to have cleaned thoroughly for your kitchen to be safe and uninfected.

I don't think it's possible, but if he continues to throw up it probably is food poisoning, or something as serious and should go to the hospital or a doctor, soon.
