This past tuesday, I dyed my hair black. On Friday, my cousin bleached some parts in my bangs (for streaks). My hair turned out an amber/dark orange color. Right after I bleached my hair and dried it, my cousin added the purple dye to my hair. When I rinsed it out, the purple was not purple! It was magenta/burgundy. I want my hair to be purple, and I know the hair dye isn't bad because it's the best out there (btw I used special effects in wildflower). Should I wait a week, then bleach it out? Do I bleach it twice since my hair is so dark? I need help! =\

For a simple answer to your initial question, simply take some food coloring and dump diffrent quantities into a glass of water. If you first dump red into the water, and then add blue, the water won't turn blue, but rather purple.

For best results you should let your hair grow back out and restart with hair that hasn't been treated to that extent. Just remember that even bleaching it is adding a color, and that once bleached you will simply have another color to take into consideration.

the problem is that you didn't leave the bleach on long enough even if you left it on for the recommended time. It should be at least yellow preferably white before you put the purple on. go to the beauty supply store and get a real good conditioning pack then use it the day before you are gonna bleach again. My hair was brown and i had to bleach it twice.

yeah...you need to bleach it so that it's white-blonde. becuz the lighter the color of yr hair before you dye it, the better the purple is going to take and be the REAL purple that you want. use manic panic if they still make it....
