The only dog I've owned in the past was a dash-hound terra cross, but all dogs seem to love me anyway.

Please don't go out and pay money to a back yard breeder (which is what you're doing if you're going to a pet store.) These animals typically have no health gaurantee and have had no testing to see if they'll be prone to genetic disorders that can cripple or kill them years down the line. Don't pay to encourage people to make more of these poor animals. If you want some mix of poodle and maltese, check out your local humane society or petfinder.com for an animal you like. Backyard breeders who produce these designer dogs say they care about their "breeds", but they're usually not even starting out with good representatives of the purebreeds to begin with. You can't count on their personalities being anything like either parent. For every "Oh, my sister has one and it's the most loveable little thing ever!" there's twenty "It was neurotic and would never calm down, it's fur was really weird, and then it developed hip-dysplasia so we had to put her down at age 4 'cause we couldn't pay the 4k to get her surgery."

Do you mean a Maltese Poodle or a Malti-poo which is a poodle maltese cross? Firstly there is no such thing as a maltese poodle, you have a poodle and that's it. So if you want a poodle then you need to find a reputable breeder who health tests their stock. However, if it is a malti-poo you are after then please don't, they are just crosses bred by people who are only interested in making vast amounts of money at the expense of the pup.

you are going to BUY a mixed breed??? that makes no sense whatsoever... people who have inferior, unhealthy poodles, find people with inferior unhealthy maltese and breed the two,, give them a fancy name and SELL them to unsuspecting people who get all caught up in the cuteness factor .. stay clear and get a healthy pup with proven bloodlines etc.. or go to the pound for a low cost mutt do not promote these backyard breeders unscrupulous breedings **** as jobees just stated,,, dog has allergies,, knee problems,,,,,, told ya so.... stay clear

If you live in USA or some parts of Canada, you will likely find a very nice one near your home..just put in your postal code.
these are very loving little dogs that will never be comfortable if you are out of site.. If you work full time, they are likely to bark while you are away..Otherwise, they are hard to beat as a companion and cuddle bug. ..They do need regular grooming..
