if i needed to be somewhere 8pm eastern time what time would that be central?

Go to the US,this is China and here there are no time zones,the entire country follows 1 time ie: +8 hrs GMT

China is GMT +8. Check that against eastern time

china doesn't have time zone of their own. they are always the same time regardless whih part of china you are at.

chinese's time is 12 hours faster than eastern time in US. for example, in china, it is 1am at friday = in Michigan, it is 1pm at friday.
