I think that people know that they have evil inclinations and they either join the church in the hope of being cured, or they join because then they know that no one will question why they don't get married. Also, there are few checks and balances in the church, so people can more easily get away with crimes like stealing money. Further, the acts of a few people get blown up by the media, so it seems like a lot more people are doing them. Finally, the churches seem to cover up crimes and not report criminals, or they think they can cure criminals, so they let them contine their crimes in other places.

If someone imposes rules on you, you want to break them. Religion is a set of rules. Priests are living by stupid rules everyday. So they break them.

their judgment of them self others drives them mad.... judgment is a demon that possess a mans mind to do evil things, the church seems to love this demon,,,, wierd huh.... non-judgment is the cure of this problem....

Sick idiots who use the 'untouchable, only-do-good' image of the church, to satisfy their low instincts.
But you shouldn't generalise, either, there are many more devoted, kind people in churches, too.
