You could try, but the minimum recommended number of megapixels to get anything like film quality prints is 4Megapixels... these days even 5 or 6 if you can afford it.
Cheapest 4Megapixel camera I know of is the Fuji Finepix A400... I use it's predecessor, the A345 (no longer available) which takes good quality prints. The A400 is availble from Amazon UK (either direct, or from an Associates store) for just £56.22

While the next one up, the Fuji Finepix A500 is a Best Buy @ Steves Digicams is currently available on Amazon UK for £59

That's not a digital camera, but a camera-phone.
Due to the small size of the imaging sensor, you would be lucky to get a decent picture that measures 2" x 4", let alone 4x6!
If you want good quality 6x4 prints, get a proper digital camera, with a 4 Mega-pixel (or more) sensor and preferably an optical zoom lense (digital zoom reduces the resolution and can make things blurred).

Go invest in an inexpensive camera. Fufifilm FinePix A500 has 5 megapixels.
Should be about $100-; if you want to get by enlarging 4X6 or 5X7. This time put the memory card in correctly, haha.
No quality shots of newborn will be gotten with 2 megpixels.

I do not know a camera phone that makes good photos.
Look at the size of the optics of the camera phones.
If it was possible to do good pictures with such small optics, then just think of how fantastic pictures would be with the real optics of real cameras ...
Phe only good pictures a camera phone can do is in bright sunchine from a distance of 10 feet with no zoom activated.
A camera phone is good for making pictures of your friends when you are having fun, but don't expect anything artistic.

Get one of these like I did. I actually got my $500 high-quality Sony Cybershot camera for free just for participating in this survey: http://urlx.org/43d43 You should give it a go. It saved me a lot of money.

I think it would be "any good," but not great. Don't dream of cropping or going any larger, though. I've made some prints from my 1.3 MP RAZR and, depending on the subject, I'd say they are satisfactory. They are not gallery prints, but you don't look at them and say they are from a camera phone.
Don't go trying to shoot any weddings, though.

you can get "decent" images but if that is what you want..then its ok. I would not use the camera on my phone to take pictures for memories. They are "phones" with a camera feature.

The quality would be fine as the quality only suffers when you are really enlarging your photos.
