I think these are relative terms and maybe they mean similar things. Losing oneself in someone is rather like falling into someone except maybe at first glance there is a difference but then everything is relative to some degree. If someone really loves someone I suppose they could have fallen into someone or in other words "fell for" that person like a ton of bricks. Then all of a sudden they are losing themself in that person....are they not? When someone really is enamored with a person they are said to lose themself in them.

For me its both you can lose and fall in love with someone at the sametime.

I'd hate to "lose myself" in anything, so I guess "falling" would be better.
