I bought the '07 camry SE. everything is great so far (around 4 weeks.)
The reviews I read were almost all positive or incorrectly negative. For example:
Overly priced: actually, camrys are cheaper this year than years past. List price is 17.5k, far cheaper than an altima or accord.
Transmission problems: this is almost pure BS. it's the same transmission as in a Lexus. If you have problems it's not because on average the transmissions are bad, it's because you happend to get one that is bad.
handling: i don't know about the other models, but mine handles great because of the sport suspension, steering wheel, and narrower front tires. the only shaking i notice is that the suspension is so good i can feel every bump in the road no matter how small. this is a small price to pay, imho, for the great turning ratio and incredible control from the advanced braking system on turns.
sport transmission: here's one problem i noticed: not all camry's have sport shifting automatic transmission. i can tell that if you want to shift it while driving and it's not the sport suspension, you could probably damage it. the way to tell is that next to the handle it will have an "s." otherwise, if you try to shift it while driving, it will not use a lower gear to accelerate.
warranty: even if you have transmission problems, it is automatically covered by the dealer warranty.

First of all, read this question I asked, I put a lot of info in it. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvIccOBeCMvR6Sn00GkaMWs9xgt.?qid=20070301210328AAn8E5d
The first link has quite a bit of info why new Toyotas suck. It is true the new Camry is extremely problamatic, the ride quality is horrible, the transmission is sticky at best, its 4 cylinder engine is extremely undersized, there is engine sludege, and even a few complaints of the car rattling so much pieces of the dash fall off. If you can take it back, do so. It will save you. The Saturn Aura is the best midsize sedan ever. It beat the CAmry, as well as Lexus, BMW, Acura, Ford, Chrysler and many others to win NACTOY car of the year. (there is a link and more info in that question I asked). The only bad thing about the Aura is that the expensive Moroccan brown leather doesnt match anything in the car. It is way less to buy than a Camry, has a V6 so speed and acceleration is no problem, has an automatic transmission that is not defective, and best of all this is all standard on the base model. The Aura would have saved you thousands would have been a better car. Its lowest review was 7.6, but was still positive, the CAmrys was 1.5. look at these links for good info http://www.edmunds.com/new/2007/saturn/aura/100715083/researchlanding.html

P.S. the new Chevy Impala is also really nice, its a little better than the Saturn in my opinion, its just not as good looking. http://www.edmunds.com/new/2007/chevrolet/impala/100757493/researchlanding.html Hope this helps!

Other than transmission problems, the car is OK as long as you don't care about safety! Maybe you should have asked this question before you bought the overpriced, over hyped POS.
