It is no longer necessary to wait years for nature to ‘infect’ the tree root, one can buy seedlings already mycorrhized with truffle spores. With regular tilling of the soil, frequent pruning of the trees, rigorous weed control and, critically, careful irrigation, truffle production can begin as early as the fourth year after planting.
You can buy the trees with the different types of truffle spores at this site. Also with a lot of good information on planting, managing the growth, hunting the truffles, etc. Good hunting.

I've never heard of any for sale. The black and white truffles will grow in the wild, but not cultivated. That's why they train pigs and dogs to sniff them out. There are truffles in several states in the US. They rake for them around certain wooded areas in Oregon and Washington.

OK, I'm getting mixed information. They are saying that only the American native truffles will grow, and that is iffy. Before reading your question I did not think they could be propagated.

There are a lot of links here. Good luck.
