Dear AUM!.... very impressive but not sufficing all you said its true and I agree as you quote the Statue of Liberty is not freedom yes it is but we made it for our understanding
and you pointed out kaaba this is only a holy building as the home of GOD it doesn’t mean that GOD live in kaa’ba but its just reffer to GOD but it’s a monument its not a satue and we say that it is GOD but my question is that will it give any sense t common man that statue with four hand and with big tongue other sign so whenever you will imagine the GOD this figure will come in your mind will it be good why we couldn’t follow the naakaar ( I think this is in geeta book a way when you just think that here is a power without imagination) and I 100% your last sentence of your answer as you said “
The higher philosophies of hinduism, leave idols and temples and rituals...and confirms God is one without any shape form or attributes”
So why you don’t follow this higher philosophy of HINDUISM ???

Almighty GOD is ONE, call HIM by any name. But it should be a Beautiful one WITHOUT any Mental picture.

What we say that there is ONE GOD means HE is the same GOD for Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Athiests, Buddhists and all mankind.

Because GOD is ONE and for all mankind.

Therefore, if you say ALLAH, ELI, ELIAH, BRAHMA, all refer to GOD. We can best understand this from the Hindu Scripture example.

Hindus say GOD is Brahma. Which if translated into English means 'The Creator' and if translated into Arabic means 'Khaliq'

Therefore if you call Almighty GOD as 'The Creator' OR 'Khaliq' OR 'Brahma' it is ONE and the SAME.

BUT...

The trouble arises when the Hindus ascribe features to GOD that are NOT worthy for GOD. For example, they say Brahma is the GOD who has 10 heads, so and so hands, etc...

And this goes against the fundamentals of Islam, Judaism and Christianity (As per the Gospel of Barnabas) and even True Hinduism itself (Vedas are against this)...

Therefore, All religions speak about Monotheism BUT the True essence of Monotheism has now remained in Islam only as...

1. The Church has fabricated the Trinity and mis-lead the Chirstians from the True message of Jesus Christ (Peace Be Upon Him)

2. The Hindus do NOT read the Vedas and practice Idol worship which is against their own scriptures.

You assume that Hindus idol worship because they build large statues in their houses of worship. I am not sure that is true.

It is said that there are those who worship mathematics. It is also said that there are wonderful geometric patterns in many mosques.

Does that mean that Muslims are worshiping mathematical idols?

I was told once that a particular geometric pattern at a mosque resembled DNA, is that then a worshiping of a genetic idol?

The crescent and the star appear at Mosques, does that then mean that Muslims worship the night? The Moon? or the Stars as Idols?

I don't think any of those are correct. Just because someone has a symbol in their place of worship does not mean they worship the symbol.

It also does not mean they worship the one true and living God, even if they do pray religiously in front of others. Only God knows the hearts of people.

Statue of Liberty is not freedom but she symbolizes it!
A light bulb is not light.. but it symbolizes an idea.
Skull and crossed bones are not dengerous but they symbolize it.
Idol is just a concrete object to symbolize the most abstract of all abstracts - God!

There is no harm in idol worshipping. Here people reject other faiths who worship idols. But who does not worship idols. The christ on the cross or mother marry with little jesus...Muslims take Kabaa as a point to worship Allaha....are they not idols ?

We keep photos of our parents and grandparents...talk to them, salute them or just pay respect to them. Is it not idol worshipping?

Idol is an external stimulii to fix our concentration to start meditation. We need something external where we can fix our attention.

idol worshipping in fact is the first step of meditation....the next step being mentally seeing the god, but every common man cant do it directly.

Instead of just making fun of idol worshipping, we should see the great psychological explanation behind ..

As per hinduism, God manifests as different forces...to show attributes of that force to common people, hindus use Iconograhpy.

For example Mother Kali shown as black idol with 4 arms actually means,... God is like darkness too when there is nothing.. there too god exists...four arms represent four directions..to show God is in all directions.

The higher philosophies of hinduism, leave idols and temples and rituals...and confirms God is one without any shape form or attributes.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: askers comments : It seems you dont want to be convinced and just wish to push your point.

I must tell you that Idol worshippers too worship the almighty god..any name they give to the idol, they know they are worshipping Him

If you wish to understand hinduism, then do not see it in comparison to sementic religions....

Hindus are not ignorant...only the have different way of worshipping God... if they are not doing it your way, it does not make any difference in the eyes of God...after all hindus have to convince Him and not you.

Any how thanks for your question and for time you put to comment on my answer... accept my love and good wishes

Not all Hindus practice Idol worshipping (thats including me). But the ones that do, they do it for the belief that god will guide them on a more properous spiritual path if they treat the idol with respect and worship the idol the way god is supposed to be treated in their belief.
