Well, she won't OD on it or anything...BUT it's not good for you. (I'm sure you already knew that) You are doing the right thing by staying away from her. Find friends with similar interests. (and that don't do drugs) They will only get you into trouble. Tell your parents. I'm sure they will be proud of your decision and give you the advice you are looking for, too.

No, you cannot die from smoking marijuana. Overdose is effectively impossible. You just can't do it.

There is also zero risk of cancer. A variety of sources confirm this, and I provide a couple of useful links in the "sources" section. The second study is the most convincing, as it was carried out by a researcher at UCLA who has studied marijuana for 30 years. They all conclude the same thing: smoking marijuana doesn't cause cancer.

Marijuana simply isn't dangerous. People who tell you otherwise are either brainwashed and unwilling to look at the facts, they have an agenda, or both. I have to admit, I too have an agenda. I don't smoke pot, I have no interest in it. My agenda is simple: I think that prohibition is ridiculous and it's about time we changed the absurd laws that govern weed.

The only danger from smoking pot is arrest under one of our outdated drug laws.

So, in summary, your friend is right you CANNOT die from marijuana usage. You can't overdose, and it does not cause cancer, as so many people falsely like to claim.

I'm sure many people will disagree with me, but I encourage you to seek their sources. Ask the people who tell you it's dangerous to cite the source of their information. Chances are, they can't, and, if they can, it will come from some group that is anti-marijuana. On the other hand, I can provide links to stories from imparital sources at respected universities that confirm my claim that marijuana is harmless.

I don't encourage using marijuana, and my answer should not be read as such. What I do encourage are responsible laws that do not prohibit people from engaging in safe activities that they may find to be enjoyable.

Not to say smoking marijuana is good for your health nor am I condoning it but no you can not die from smoking it under normal conditions. I don't have a source but I did read that it is physically impossible to smoke the amount of marijuana needed to overdose. Now I suppose if it was laced with another drug or harmful toxin that would be a whole different story. Plus it's probably about as damaging to your lungs as ciggerette smoke is. I'm no doctor though so don't quote me on it.

As far as short term death, It is pretty hard to die from an overdose. You could, however, die when you get behind the wheel of a car and make stupid decisions because of your intoxication level.

As far as long term death, lung cancer comes to mind to me first along with many other respitory problems. You will live a shorter life if you do it every day for the rest of your life.
