What is a good 2-3 day hike in the GA, TN, NC area?

I'm looking at doing a solo trek through the smokies or surrounding area here in a week or so... I'm a fairly strong hiker (Marine infantry)... Does anyone have any suggestions? I've never hiked the area before.

I'm pretty sure the Appalachian trail goes through that area. You might consider hiking a section of that.
