I am not gay and I do not have any kids that are gay but my friends are gay...so I have thought about the case of what if I found out my kids are gay. I know it will be hard at first to take in for you as in any parent. but the best thing to do is be okay with it. It took a lot of courage for them to finally come out and admit that. Do not make them feel different or that something is wrong with that. Some people are born with different tendencies.
I guess I have seen a lot of my friends parents that practically dis-own their kids when they find out some I know even have killed themselves after they admitted they were gay. So just be supportive and learn...try to understand. That is the best advice I can give. Just be there you dont want to lose you kid.

I have an aunt that is gay and when my grandmother found out that she was gay she flipped out and to this day my aunt talks about how it hurt her to know that her mother wanted to disown her because of her sexual preference. I was raised by my aunt and I was kind of embarrassed about telling everyone at first, but now that I am older I wouldn't have her any other way because she is who is she is. Gay or not she is still my aunt. Gay or not your kids are your kids.

I would go out and purchase a gay pride tee-shirt. Join gay causes. They are upstanding citizens and if anyone of them tells me they are gay then I would still love them and support. Reguardless of they sexual perference they are still the children I brought into this world.

Love them always.... even if you disagree with the chosen behavior/lifestyle. they did not seek to be gay.
However.....
Also let them know"You Don't Have To Be Gay" if you don't want to be. You do have a choice.

You can overcome same sex behavior like any other unwanted behavior.
Give them the resources to make an informed choice... Like

Love them no matter what they choose!

I would be sure my child knows that I love him, and that it doesn't matter if he is gay or straight, any more than it matters if he has blond hair or brown or is a doctor or a garbage collector. I would be sure he knows how much I admire and respect him, and who he is. I would be sure he knows I support him and welcome him and his friends into my home. I would be sure he knows when others don't understand or don't accept him for who he is, his mother always will, and will be there for him every minute of every day. So basically, nothing would change :)

Don't do anything but love them unconditionally. My 23 year old daughter is gay. I still love her and will always be there for her. Ther is no way I would ever turn my back on her, just because of her sexual preference. She is still my daughter.

My kids already know about what being gay is, and they know that I wouldn't care if they were. They know I love them, and I'm always going to.
MARTIN NEVILLE : YOU CAN'T TEACH YOUR 3 YR OLD NOT TO BE GAY...YOU CAN'T TEACH ANYONE NOT TO BE GAY. I HOPE THAT SHE ISN'T GAY WITH YOU AS A PARENT, BECAUSE SHE WILL GO THROUGH MUCH HEARTACHE CAUSED BY SOMEONE WHO IS SUPPOSE TO LOVE HER UNCONDITIONALLY.
COOLGUY: SAME TO YOU....

If I were to find that one of my kids were gay. sure yea it would be hard to accept at first. i think i would blame myself because as a parent i think you try to make sure you raised them properly and you did everything right. but i would never aboanded him, its someone that grew inside you and you took care of since day one. i would tell them i would always be there for them and always will be no matter who or what they are.

I would hope that throughout their lives it would have been obvious to them that I feel that people are people and that being homosexual isn't a negative thing. Plus, I would be a little less worried about my daughter getting knocked up or my son getting someone knocked up, lol.
