Is there a limit to the number of kids in the back seat? My ex has 4 kids in the back. We share custody of one of the 9 year olds. Their ages are 9, 8, 7, and another 9 year old. He puts all 4 or more kids in the back seat at one time. Isn't there a law about how many kids can be in the back seat? Can I get him on child endanger ment? My 9 year old has told me that she has rode on the floor board before. I know that this is not safe for my daughter.

Each Child needs to be seat belted in. If not, it is against the law and most likely could be considered child endagerment.

The limit is one seat belt for each child, so if there are only 3 seatbelts in the back seat (which there is), and one child has to go without a seatbelt, then he is endangering at least one of the children's lives. And if they have 2 kids "share" a seatbelt, he's endangering 2 kids. And i would bet none wear seatbelts so they can "comfortably" fit on the seat together. I would definitely consider that child endangerment and i would get him for it, not because i'm angry at him and want an excuse to get back at him, but for the pure safety of my own child, because you never know which one is not secured. It is a huge safety hazard and you need to bring this to the attention of the authorities!

First of all there is a law that says that any kid under the age of 16 has to be in a seat belt, so, unless there are 4 seatbelts in the back seat ( which would be unusual) then it would be against the law.

By law EVERY child must be buckled up and only one buckle per a person, it is against the law for a child to be without a seat belt and against the law to have kids share a seatbelt so yes you can report him for child endangerment. What he is doing is very dangerous, you know whats going to happen if he gets in a car accident and your child is not wearing a seatbelt? He or she is going to go threw the front windshield

yes there is a limit to # of kids in a back seat. if the back seat only has 3 seat belts thats how many people can only be back there. i would really think that you can do something about it. call your rcmp or police dept and see what they say. and if you fill that he is endangering your child dont let him take your 9 year old. if he cares at all about his kids he put them in any type of harmes way.

I am concerned about your statement "get him on child endangerment" it sounds like you are harboring resentment. Work together to find a solution to this. In our state, all seatbelts should be used, and kids should be safely seated, but if there are more kids than seatbelts, it is ok. If it is only your daughter that is singled out, you have bigger problems.

If the kids are too old for carseats then the rule is that there has to be enough seatbelts for people in the back seat - generally this means that only 3 children can fit in the back with seatbelts on.

1 child per seatbelt. Your ex needs a minivan or an SUV. All seatbelts must be fastened. I don't think they need safety seats after 7 years old. AND no child under 13 can ride in the front.

Well, there are normally 3 seats in the back, and if 4 people are riding in the back (regardless of their age) it is against the law. Riding without a seatbelt is breaking the law.

How many seat belts to the back seat? Every passenger must wear seat belts. Of course it is child endangerment. Your ex puts the lives of the children at risk. ...If you do not do anything about this, you too are putting these little lives at risk.
