Any good ideas on how I should ask my girlfriend to marry me?

Just some way to ask her so that she will remember it forever and it will be a good story to tell the kids... when we have them.

I read this somewhere and I always thought that it was cute.

One night when she's sleeping, put the ring on her finger and wait for her to wake up and see it. It's even better if you're there. Once she sees it, ask her to marry you.

Really, just ask. Your future kids won't give a flying you know what hearing the boring story of how you proposed, because kids don't care about things that happened before they were born. This idea you want her to remember it forever is also romantic tripe. If you and she do indeed get married, other things will come along in importance to obscure your proposal. Trust me, just ask her and be done with it. On this one, I have to agree with Becky B. Asking people (strangers) on the Internet for advice on what should be a heartfelt PERSONAL moment, is not too swift and I doubt the kids will be remotely interested, or they will laugh their socks off at you when you tell them that's what you did. How UN-cool!

ask her in a public place lots of people around you including family and good freinds like a billboard or over a local radio station make sure she's listening. put her ring in a rose before you give it her.make sure it don't fall out. it really doesn't matter any woman would remember this forever and it would be a good story to tell children ask her at work is another good idea or if your out with freinds too. or give her a wonderful dinner and candles and get down on one knee and ask her you know the traditional way

Well I always wanted my guy to propose to me as we dance on an empty street just after it has rained on our way back from dinner or a party or something. He wud dance and then wen we were so close dat we cud hear each other's hearbeats he wud whisper to me those magic words "...Will u marry me and make the happiest man on earth?" really softly. I LOVE the idea one person had above for putting the ring on her finger while she slept!

If you both share a favorite romantic film or you know of a film where the guy proposed in a special way and your girl likes that film especially, well you could re-enact the scene...especially if you get the lines down perfectly.

yes you shold take her to a fancy restraunt. Then when you take her home(unless she lives with you) kneel down show her the ring and say " Honey we have been going out for somany years i think it is time we move on> so will you marry me" then you should get an answer

Have her over for a semi-cheesy chinese takeout where you sit on the floor, and put the question "will you marry me" into her fortune cookie... the ring in the cookie would be cooler but I don't think that is possible... that's how i'm gonna do it if I ever find someone!

at the peak of a roller coaster ride, in a canoe on a lake at sunset, at a carnival have them ask her over the loud speaker, the same place you first kissed if its not in your car, somewhere cool looking at the stars at night. its easier for men to ask if they just have to blurt it out, no foreplay. women would prefer it have some great time spent together right before you ask.
