Mythologically, Angels are neither "good" nor "evil". Just messengers of God's will. They have no say in the matter at all...no feeling, no malice, no compassion.
Perfectly in keeping with the OT God...a selfish tyrant with a huge and fragile ego.
BTW: How anyone could possibly rationalize the killing of 1/3 or more of the human population as a good thing is extremely disturbing. Seriously...what kind of closet sadist are you?

Well not all angels are happy things. They have many different jobs. Here is a few off the top of my head:
- Bouncer
- Death Bringer
- Assasin
- Fertilization Doctor
- Murderer
- Torturer
- Guardian
- Snitch
- Creator
- Muse
- Rapist
- Warrior
- Plague Bearer
- Limited Suffering Assosiate
Look through the bible there are many more and no I did not make these things up. I wish I did. But really take a step back and look at the big picture of what most of the angels actually do. The are there to help us to an extent that will hopefully not get us killed without letting us go out of line... And the most beautiful of all the angels Lucifer...ect.ect.ect.

I have looked for a word for those who only bring pain and suffering..in vain.
As for the angel of death?
If you are christian, why does it cause so much suffering? Are you not to be reunited in heaven? For non-Christians, this is a good Angel/myth/metaphor too cuz...to me at least...because...
I would not want no death, it would ruin life.
No access to those you love is hard, but thats the way our world works... for life there must be death.
So give this angel a break, its got a tough job.

because the angel of death is the angel which takes your soul away on the day you die.
it's not all ways suffering, only to the disbelievers. the good people will feel less pain when they die ,a smile upon their face when they know it's time to meet their god.

I don't see the contradiction. The angel of death, in my opinion, is on God's side, not Satan's. The angel of death is mentioned twice. In Genesis, where he killed the ungodly people (those not alleiged to God), and in Revelation where he is riding on a black horse to kill 1/3 of the world's population (once again, people who haven't alleiged themselves to God). So in my opinion the Angel of Death is a good person.

They are included in the definition of angels. Just because people have the idea that all angels are good, doesn't make it so. Angels are angels -- destructive or non-destructive.
