Because I use to have one that was awesome she let me pick her up. but the bird I have no dosent like to be touched why dont they like to be touched and some do? And how do you know if the parakeet will be a friendly one If I buy another one?

Best way to find one is get a very young keet like me. I'm 4-6 months so i am very trainable. Most keets are as friendly as they are taught to be. Also when shopping for one put your hand in the cage and let one come to you. Always let a keet pick you instead of you picking it, We will be happier with you and more friendly if we picked our mommy and/or daddy.

Most pet stores will let you play with the pets before buying. Sometimes you have to train a bird not to be afraid of you. I know what you mean, though - I have had some that were very friendly and some that could never be trained. Just try to find one that doesn't seem too afraid -- some stores sell hand-fed budgies that are more used to people.

The friendliest birds are hand-fed and raised by breeders try locating a breeder in your area.
They usually belong to a bird club or association, may advertise in the newspaper, you may also ask your vet or pet store if they know of any local breeders.

the only way a bird will be friendly right off the bat is if they have been handraised or hand fed

at the store you might want to ask it thay hold them and make them comfortable near peapel and you might want to try to see if you can pick the one you want up befor you buy it if its happy in your hands then you may have got the parkett for you and good luck finding the parkett you want
