Go to see a slack key show such as Led Kaapana at the Kona Brewing Company (free). Get a boogie board and catch some waves. Eat a plate lunch at L&L Drive In. Hang out and people watch at Ala Moana Shopping Center. Check out the Contemporary Museum or Academy of Art. Go to the Flea Market/Swap Meet at Aloha Stadium. Climb Diamond Head. Drive around the island and watch the surfers at the North Shore. While you're there get some shave ice at Matsumoto's in Haleiwa. Go to the Dole Pineapple cannery and try pineapple ice cream. Get a tan.

Dole Plantation is like $5 for the maze. I didn't take the educational train ride. The pineapple ice cream is good. It's $5 to park a vehicle to go hike up Diamond head. Great view at the top though. Arizona Memorial is donations only. You can look at the museum, and get a free boat ride to the site. They have performances at the Ala Moana mall if you check the schedule. The Bishop Museum was worth the low cost. Walk along Waikiki, and North Shore...plenty things to see & do. Hanuma Bay or Shark's cove is good snorkeling places. Some hotels put on firework shows. Try looking it up online for details and specifics.

You can go the Pali Lookout and view the wide scenery from atop the mountain. Also, take a stroll on Waikiki beach (I may have spelled it wrong). There are a lot of tourist spots along the beach walk and many different kinds of activities along the way.

Go to Ko'olina Beach.

They have a guard shack at the entrance but just tell them you are going to the beach and they will let you in.

Anything to do with the beach is what people go to Hawaii for and its free.

There's quite a lot you can do that is not costly, hiking, biking, kayaking, snorkeling. Looking for good place to eat that's not so pricey ask a local. Try to get to know the locals, they know all the great places to go.

When I first came to Maui I was asking for directions once for a hiking trail and the lady called her husband on her cell, she didn't want me to go hiking by myself so she called her husband to go with me!!
