If I were to die today, I want to know how I stand. Though I wouldn't regard myself as a Christian, if someone asked me if I am or not I would choose yes rather than no because I ultimately believe in God. I have a lot of suspicions because I'm very logical, but I also understand that being logical often means illogical. I don't go to church except twice per year or so. I do my best to live by what God commands of us- I uphold good morals in every aspect of my life, though I have made mistakes here and there. I would regard myself as a very moral and ethical person that believes in God somewhat...kind of iffy, but I would say I ultimately do. If I die today, where do I stand?

There is only one name that you need to understand, one way to the God that you say you believe in, and that is Jesus Christ. Jesus stated that He was the only way to the Father. He said that the road to life was narrow, and few would be on it. The bible tells us there is no other name (than Jesus) by which anyone might be saved.

You ask the most important question anyone can ever ask. It is appointed for man once to die and then the judgment. But please, consider. It is not merely a generic "belief" in God that will gain you eternal life. It is repentance of sin and acceptance of the son of God who died on a cross to pay for your sins.

Don't take my word for it. Please take some time and read the bible. Read the gospels, read the book of Romans. Such an important question deserves an informed choice. May God lead you to the right choice.

We will all stand before the Lord on Judgement Day (or rather not stand, but kneel). The Bible says that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. That means that believer or not, professing Christ or not, EVERYone wil bow.

The Bible is very clear. The ONLY way to the Father is through the son. It sounds like you have been thinking about this already. If you choose to accept Christ, it's very easy. All you have to do is confess that you are a sinner and say that you believe Jesus is God's son, came to earth to die for your sins, died and rose again. You can use your own words.

If you choose not to say these words, then it may sound harsh but the Bible does say that you are lost. There are some feel good churches out there who will pander and say that there may be many ways to heaven. But the Bible doesn't support this view.

Sounds like you are taking the high road to hell. No offense, just remember that we do not earn our way to heaven by being moral. Only God can judge someone, but the Bible does make it clear that Jesus is the way, the truth, the life, and that no one can come to the father except through him. I want you there, so I am not sugar coating anything by telling you to try your best. It is not good enough and never will be good enough. There is no such thing as a kinda sorta Christian. Either when Christ returns he will say, well done good and faithful servant, or I did not know you. Get off the fence and join the offense. He's coming soon.

If you are as you describe yourself, you stand very well. God is not judging you according to your membership, or declarations, but according to your intent and attitudes, even more so than according to your actions. You also strike me as an intelligent person. You may benefit from reading "Rational Spirituality" available on the Dhaxem website. It could almost serve you as a manual to assessing yourself . It is no-nonsense account of God, the Universe and the future, conveyed directly from the Source. And it contains the Divine Laws, which, judging from your question, you will enjoy reading.

I thought you said you had a logical mind....!?

If you die today you won't stand at all... It might be possible to prop your sorry-assed butt up in a corner for a while by why would a reasonable person do such a silly thing as that.

Look... "logic-head" Your good morals don't come to you as a result of "somewhat" believing in "God" or even from whole-heartedly believing... That good quality of your being comes from learning the common rules of the society you live in. And, you don't have to worry about your standing with "God" either now or after you've died - because there isn't a "God."

If you say you have "smarts" and it's actually true, you'd better start using 'em because from here the issue looks a tad questionable. And that ain't no chit-talkin' - it's for real.

To have confidence about Judgement Day, you have to get to know Jesus personally. Although most Christians will emphasise Bible reading and church attendance, I believe the only way to know Him really is through prayer, which is a two-way communication between you and God. You have to learn to pray meditatively or contempatively and to hear His voice. Then you will begin to learn of His love for you and His care for every part of your life.

Bible reading will greatly enhance your spiritual understanding IF you have this heart connection to God. Church attendance - whoah! You have to be strong in Him before you can discern the truth from the BS there.

Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and do you believe that He died on the cross for the redemption of your sins? The only way to God is through is son, Jesus. Believing in God is not enough. The Bible says that the demons believe in God and they tremble. They believe but they are definitely hell bound. Get in the Word to see what it really says. Don't listen to people, they all have a different opinion and this is too serious to miss.

If you die before Armegeddon begins, you will most likely be resurrected to live on the earth. You will then get to see that God really does keep his promises, that Christ is ruling in heaven and that there is true peace and love on the earth. However, if you die during Armegeddon, you will remain dead forever as you have chosen to judge yourself by your own standards and do your own thing. Make room for God's will in your own life. Read your Bible and draw close to him. He is the only one who can truly determine your outcome. May God bless all your efforts to know him better.

You say you live a moral life and try to live by God's commands, but have you ever put your faith in Jesus or God? If you believe that you will attain heaven by good works you will be disappointed. Heaven is a free gift and is not attainable no matter how good we have lived our lives. We are all sinners and just one sin in our life is capable of bringing us under God's Judgment. If you want to go to heaven then you must put your faith in God and repent.

Only God knows your heart. It isn't up to imperfect humans or religious institutions to judge a person's eligibility for entrance into the afterlife.

It is by God's grace that we are saved.
