I was born and raised Catholic, studying the Bible helped me find Islam.

Anybody have similar experiences?

-LoriLou, I suggest you look further into the Qur'an you have shown me that you have not read through it with open minds. So many people take the Qur'an and come to the conclusion that Muslims are suppose to kill non-Muslims. On the contrary Muhammad (PBUH) saved a lot of non-Muslims.

Yes, I can say I have. When I was 14, I got tired of being told that all my answers lay in my blind faith. I was very inquisitive growing up, and very much into details. I asked questions not many others thought to ask (i.e. why does this chapter say he was crucified on a cross when this one says he was crucified on a tree?) Stuff like that. I also asked why women were so hated, as Jesus (PBUH) in the bible says that the best of men are those who don't ever have sex with a woman. They told me I was wrong for thinking about this stuff. I asked them how it was wrong, when it's in the bible. So I studied religions for years and at 18, converted to Islam. I've been learning every since and learn more and more. Those who are so hateful towards us only encourage us to keep strong to our faith because they are jealous of what we have and angry that they do not have this same bravery to go with what we feel regardless of what society's opinion may be of it.

I'm sure my answer probably is not PC, but you did ask. Oh, and I refuse to be PC any longer. It has brought ruin to America. It's time to stand up and tell the truth, even if people don't want to hear it.

One has to wonder what you mean when you say you "studied" the Bible. Did you attend seminary? Which parts of the Bible did you read and how many times? What studies did you do? The Bible isn't exactly a weekend read.

And if you did actually "study" the Bible, one also has to wonder if you've studied the Koran equally in depth? This book says that its divine origin is allah and guaranteed by its consistency.

"Will they not consider the Koran? If it were not from Allah, they certainly would have found many contradictions therein." The Koran, surah (chapter) 4, verse 82.

In this case, it should be free of contradictions and errors, correct?

From "The Almighty Myth"

(ii) On Judgement Day sinners shall (27/83&84), and shall not (55/39), be interrogated about their misdeeds.

(iii) On Judgement Day sinners shall be deaf, dumb, and blind (17/97); yet they shall have especially acute sight and hearing (19/38).

(iv) Allah forgives all sins (39/53), and Allah forgives all sins, except that of worshipping anything other than him (4/48), and Allah shall not forgive the premeditated murder of a true believer: offenders fry in hell (4/93), and Allah shall not forgive murder, suicide, and wastefulness in general: offenders roast in hell (4/29&30).

My Bible says that I should love a lost person and pray for them. However, the Koran says that you should kill anyone who doesn't believe as you do.

IV.89: They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah's way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper.
IX. 5-6: Kill those who join other gods with God wherever you may find them.

So, similar experience? Quite the opposite. Studying the Bible and the Koran has helped me choose Christianity. Jesus is the way, the truth and the light and whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus) shall have everlasting life. My God is not a god of hate, destruction, and inconsistency. He is the great I Am and is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

for the same reason that Muslims do now not ask Christian pupils to coach them the Qur'an. each and every team has its own schedule and is incapable of awareness the others literature stunning. and of direction the Islamic faith has below no circumstances produced extra effective than one sect (Ahmadiyya, Shi'a, Sufism, Sunni), has now not have followers that blow themselves and others up and fly planes into skyscrapers. and of direction there on the prompt at the instant are not different popular strategies (tajweed) to recite the Qur'an. And there as below no circumstances been a Muslim who claimed to precise conventional God and tried to remodel others - too regularly on the component to a sword. of direction there on the prompt at the instant are not different Imans who disagree with one yet yet another. Nor has there each and every been a conflict between different sects of the Islamic faith. And it has below no circumstances spun off yet yet another faith like the Bahai faith. Sorry yet each and every component you have criticized related to the Christian faith is the two actual of the Islamic faith.

Good for you. Inshallah god will make the road easy for you and all of us. i can't say I have read the whole bible, however i have read parts of it and have read the trinity even though I did not understand it and had to ask a priest to help with it which did not go well with my parents but I know what you mean. Reading that stuff made me realize more how Islam is better of two branches of the same religion. Reading another holy books lets you see both sides of a story and then you decide which one seems more true to you. Trinity just seemed like a bad egyption fiction to me.

On this platform it is hard to find out the intention behind a question.

Therefore if you asked this question to tease and make fun of Bible & Christians, I do not welcome you since..........

The Holy Quran lays down:
"You who believe, do not let one (set of) people make fun of another set."
"Do not defame one another."
"Do not insult by using nicknames."
"Do not backbite or speak ill of one another."
(49:11-12)

But if your intentions are good, we congratulate you and welcome you to the truth.

I take your statement believing that Bible led you to the ultimate truth & light i.e.Islam.

That's absurd. The Bible says Jesus is the Son of God. Muslims don't worship a Son of God. But, I will give you credit for being a good liar.

If you have truly study the Bible, then you would know it's the Word of God and you wouldn't have anything to do with islam.
As usually punter has know idea what he is talking about.
Jesus Christ said to be aware of false prophets. Mohammad was not and is not the Holy Spirit.
Song of Solomon is not talking about your false prophet, he is talking about love. If punter is going to quote from the Bible, get it straight.
