I belong to a Chihuahua group and someone asked if the color of a chihuahua's foot pad means anything or does it really matter at all? And, are Chihuahau feet supposed to be cold, even when they are warm?

Nope, color means nothing.

Dogs sweat through their feet, so their feet can be cooler than the rest of the dog.

I don't know anything about pad color, my chihuahua's padsare
a greyish black, but the feet should be warm, if your dog has
cold feet, you should talk to your vet. Cold feet can be caused
by circulation problems among others.

I dont think it means anything. One of mine has black foot pads, the other has pink. I think it just depends on their colouring.

Typically, it's just pigment. It doesn't mean anything else - unless there is something unusual going on.
