While better than many BYBs, the Michigan breeders listed above are indeed BYBs - something you want to stay away from.

You also want to avoid pet shops and breeder who advertise on pet clearinghouse websites. It's fine for a breeder to have a website, but it shouldn't be a showcase for selling puppies.

The best place to start is with the Siberian Husky Club of America. Read ALL the information links on this breed. http://www.shca.org/ Please, do not get one because you saw them in a movie, on Animal Planet, or because you like furry dogs. They are dogs that need special attention and a loving family. They can be a very difficult dog if not properly cared for, and unfortunately, too many people don't find this out until after they get one.

http://www.siberianrescue.com/ Rescue is also a way to go. They are generally purebred dogs whose family simple can't take care of them any more. It doesn't mean they are abused or neglected, it just means that they need a new home.

Look at your local shelter or huskie rescue. You can find puppies and dogs there. 25% of dogs brought into shelters are pure bread, sometimes they have puppies after they arrive. So try to save a dog in a shelter and save two lives the dog you adopt and the one they will have room for after your new dog leaves. The Humane Society has a local search (pet finder) on there website

there is a family in Ionia, (eye-own-yuh) Michigan that breeds Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes (including the Giant Mals). they take great care of their pups, and the prices are reasonable.

here is the link: http://www.alaskanmalamutepups.com/

ahhh someday when i have a house and a yard... /sigh
