I try to make a scrapbook page or draw or write a poem I have constant negative thoughts where I say well I am not good enough to even do this so why do it? Is there anyway I can change thoughts to positive thoughts to make myself feel better?

Me too! Me too! I almost flunked out of school. I always did the assignments, but I never believed they were good enough. Many times I did not turn them in because the negative thoughts about them were too overwhelming. You should have seen the day I had 16 assignments done, sitting in my locker, when the principal, school counselor, my teacher, and father all checked my locker (thinking I would have drug paraphanelia). I thought the teacher was going to sh it herself.

And yes, there is a way to change these thoughts to positive thoughts. I would highly recommend reading through a Dr. Phil book - he will teach you about negative programming and the tapes that repeat over and over in your head. I think the book you want to go after is "Self Matters." Try it - work seriously and honestly, and it will help!!

This might sound silly, but if you're trying to write poetry, perhaps make the topic your negative thoughts. Try and express within the poem how you feel about yourself.
I used to write a lot of poetry when I was having a low time in High School, along with keeping a journal. The getting your thoughts organised and out onto paper really helps ease them and make you feel better about yourself. I found it very therapeutic and I'd feel more positive in myself for 'expelling' the negativity.

If you have a chance to try an acting class in your area--you should consider it.

Acting allows for us to become someone else, try out another character without actually becoming someone else--that way if it doesn't work--you can leave that person in the dust--if that character does work for you--borrow some parts of his/her personality & help yourself get on with life.

Maybe scrapbooking or poetry aren't your thing either? Negative thoughts can come in because the actions we're doing simply don't work for us--sometimes more reasons, but sometimes just simple reasons.

try everything new that you can. along the way youll find stuff that youre good at,and some that youre not so good at. remember, no one is perfect! dont have expectations that are too high or youll never live up to them. in addition to not being perfect, we're not all the same. what someone else does you maybe do a little differently. but that doesnt make it any worse. it might even be better! be proud of what you can do!
