It's true to what others have stated, marijuana is not addictive, I should know this. I used to work at a Medical Marijuana Dispensary (in California it's legal), but some people that I know were trying to quit, they first just took it easy and they told me they would switch to hemp nuts. It's sounds like it's related to weed, but it's not.
Hemp nuts and all sorts just gives you a relaxing feeling, but you just don't get high from it. There's also sites you can go to for futher information like www.canorml.org

Weigh your priorities. Just because you don't need to smoke now doesn't mean you can't later. Start making plans that take up your "smoke time". Do things you haven't done for awhile. Or better yet, do something you have promised to do while you were high. Once weed is out of the loop you will miss it less and less. Good luck!!

1. Think back to the things you used to love to do, before you started smoking pot .. to give you happy feelings, and go back to doing those things.
2. Exercise ... it's lifts one's spirits, and dispels anger.
3. Stay away from "slippery places and slippery people" ... meaning, if you're invited somewhere that you know people are going to be smoking pot ... don't go. If your pot smoking buddies invite you over or go to your place, tell them straight up ... that you no longer smoke pot and you would appreciate it if they didn't smoke it in your home and/or in your presence. You may lose a few friends, but, it's their choice.
4. Take up some new interests.
Hope this helps ... wishin' you well.
BTW: Pot use IS addictive, to those with addictive personalities ... I've been there and know of some who are there now. The addiction may not be a chemical craving ... and it doesn't need to be, in order for one to crave the feeling it gives.

One of my girlfriends faced this dilemma. Ultimately, she quit because she was really resolved to do so. She wanted a good job, and understood that smoking pot would turn up on drug tests...thereby denying her the job she wanted.
I think that as long as you see smoking as something that has no negative consequences then you will be addicted. Therefore, you must really look at how it impacts your life and weigh the good against the bad.

Weed is not physically addictive. It's all in your head, just like an addiction to chocolate or something. Go cold turkey, and if that doesn't help, try an addiction clinic.

Stop smoking dope NOW and start drinking heavily. I suggest a good, dark tequila, like a Patron. That will fix you right up and you'll be back in boyscouts and going to church with mom on sunday in no time flat

I've never been addicted to anything besides yahoo answers. I was supposed to quit cold turkey yesterday but, as you can see, that didn't happen. So, good luck with that smoking thing.

Grow up and stop being a drug addict?
First step is to drop all the "friends" you hang out with that smoke it. Then enlist the help of a true friend that does not smoke it.
Other than that, go to rehab.

like lots of others have already stated, you can't get addicted to weed. how do you stop smoking it? I'm just going to repeat again...
1. stop buying it
2. stop hanging out with the druggies
3. stop believing that you are addicted to something that is non-addictive
