I have met people online, but never had a relationship with them. It depends on if you live in the same state or not. Even if you live a state away, it can be really hard to have a relationship. There's so many things that could go wrong. You could meet somebody closer to you. Or they could. It would be a hassle to have to travel. Long distance relationships just never work out. Also, meeting someone online could be iffy. You don't know if they are lying about what age they are or anything. You could be talking to a 25 year old blond bombshell who is really a 46 year old petofile! I am just sayin be careful!

Yes. I met my fiance online. We initially were just friends for about seven months. We e-mailed a lot and eventually talked on the phone (about four months into it). When we met, we decided to try a long distance relationship out, and because we were serious with it we made sure to see each other often and communicate even more often. I imagine it doesn't work for everyone, but if you are honest and the other person is also honest it can be great.

Yes. I did and it ended in tears, but more because I ignored the warning signs. But that can happen in any relationship, not just an online one.
