That's your mind trying to make sense of your emotions. They're not in harmony.
Think of it this way: your emotions are what keeps the population (not necessarily you) healthy. If no one experienced intense, blind attraction, it would be unlikely that we'd have the chaotic churning of the gene pool to propogate our species and insure robust immortality to our DNA.
Welcome to the world of humans. There are joys and hurts, but it sure isn't a boring place.

It has been said that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. That's probably true.Having the experience of love is both wonderful and painful. The younger the love the more the excitement and the more the pain. As we get older the extremes of feelings seem to level a bit, but the joy and the pain can still be there. But that's all part of life. You can't control what the universe is going to bring you tomorrow. Your special partner might decide to look elsewhere...or you might decide to look elsewhere. There are no guarantees...other than the guarantee that everything will change sooner or later. So live your life, enjoy it as you are living it, take each day as it comes, live in gratitude, accept yourself and accept your universe.

Because some trips are not about the destination but more so the journey. To experience the greatest high and best thing in your life once and to lose it and be hurt by that loss doesn't make the time during that feeling of true love any less beautiful in a persons life. To live is to love and to love sometimes can lead to loss, but it is love that makes life worth living.

Each one of us has a need for someone (who isn't family), to love the person we are. We want the feeling that they care for us and need us like we feel for them. Even though it'll probably end up not want we search for, we keep looking. The love we want is that feeling we had as a child by our parents. Having someone there for us when we aren't pretty, or when we are sick. Just being loved and knowing that a person desires us deeply fills us with peace and happiness. Like a child on Christmas morning.

My girlfriend loves me for who I am and that is the best feeling in the world. I couldn't trade this feeling in for anything. I try my best to make every day special for her so she continues the complements.
Love is accepting the whole person. It is a verb, noun and adjective.
I often ask myself where would I be if my parents didn't love each other. They have been happily married for forty years.
Good luck !! G-d bless the lovers in the world !!
