I am planning to go on a trip to Koh Samui. However, the direct flight to Koh Samui cost a bomb. Is there cheaper and alternative ways to get to Koh Samui, by land? Kindly fill me in with the details as well. Thanks.

You can try Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways, and some of the budget airlines that do domestic flights within Thailand. First buy your ticket to Bangkok. Then go to the websites for those budget airlines to book your connection between Bangkok and Ko Samui. It is probably cheaper this way.

It will be easier if you take a flight from Singapore to Hatyai and followed up with a bus and boat trip to Koh Samui. Another option is fly to Phuket on Jetstar and then a bus and boat to Samui. Both options need not cost you a bomb and saves you more than halfa day of road travel. Which may cost a fair bit to go from Singapore.

Fly to Singapore with with the cheapest carrier from wherever you are. Probably Singapore Air or maybe Royal Brunei, Qantas or whatever. But your main question I believe, was the cheapest airfare from Singapore to Koh Samui. Try "Tiger Air" internet fair. They also do a Singapore to Chiangmai (Northern Thailand) fare. I did Chiangmai to Singapore internet fare for my honeymoon I paid 2000 baht, but when we arrived at the airport they were selling them for 500 baht. But that was an intro fare for a new route. I found Singapore a little bit boring after a couple of days so we flew to Koh Samui. Before our honeymoon I was already living in the greatest holiday country in the world (Thailand) but I felt that we should travel for our honeymoon. Mistake. I don't think you can beat Thailand for a holiday. Good Luck

The cheapest way would be to fly via one of the budget airline to Bangkok. Then book a flight on one of the Thai budget airlines susch as Bangkok Air, 1-2-GO, NOK. Alternatively book a land and boat trip but in my opinion, the budget airline is the cheapest.
