I want to know because I used to work for a trucking company that supported an air-cargo company. The price the airport charged was $1.00 a lbs for a plane to use the airport.

The latest 747 cargo airplane is the 747-400 ERF... (ERF= Enhanced Range Freighter) This airplane has a max takeoff weight of 932,000 lbs. That is 466 tons!!! However, because the 747-400ERF is heavy even when its empty, the actual cargo that can be carried is 133 tons... This is an increase of 11 tons over the previous model...

The 747-400 Freighter versions can carry in excess of 100 tons
