I like a popular guy and i thought he was way out of my league but then he asked me out. i wasent sure if it was a dare cuz i didnt kno him very well so, to protect myself, i said no. how do i kno for sure in case it happens again?

You're never going to know if you keep turning guys down. What if he was serious? Can you see how your assumption is very insulting towards him?
I can understand you being paranoid if the guy has asked a girl out as a joke in the past or his friends do things like that, but otherwise I think you need to look hard at what you are doing. Your own lack of self-esteem may be leading you to judge others unfairly, and what's worse is you can start to see the world as an ugly, scary place.
It's hard to be strong, but it's a lot more attractive than imagining everyone is out to get you! If it happens again and you like the guy, say YES.

Say yes, if it turns out to be a prank and you don't let it faze you all of a sudden you'll have trumped the most popular guy and you'll social status will rise.
If it isn't well then you just got what you've been wishing for.

First did you want to go out with him? If yes, you should talk to him and say, "you ask me out the other day, I was a caught a bit off guard, if you would like to get together where would we go and what would we do?" Listen to his answer, if it was a prank you will know. If he wants to go out with you he will be honest. The cool thing is you get a second chance if you have the guts, so do you?!?!

Honestly, for a popular guy to ask you out...you must be worth the while for asking out. I cannot guarantee that the guy's intentions are pure for a relationship, however, as a guy, I can tell you that us guys also want to find sexy awesome women to be with...I hope it works for you.

Well to find out, since boys are usually immature, if he's using those words figuartivley/sarcastically. Was he with his friends? if so, he might of just said that to get attention since most guys loves attention... well the outgoing ones. If he really meant that he would be shy. Guys usually become more shy when it comes to likes/relationships.

why did you say no if you like him..lol...call him back and say that you would like to go out...i hate why you think this guy is better cause he is popular....that doesn't really make him better...just an ordinary guy asking a girl out...most likely he was serious about it

if you think he's the kind of guy who would do something as cruel as ask someone out as a practical joke.....well.....would you really want to go out with a guy like that anyway? i guess look for other clues. does he smile when he sees you around, does he go out of his way to talk to you and get to know you?

GIRL just take it slow. IF they pull a prank bounce back. DONT have sex with him either. AND dont be caught alone with him. I dont trust him.
