ceramic straighteners are the best. also, as far as time savers go, wet/dry straighteners are great. they both work well.

Coming from someone who does peoples hair, you wont find anything in a store that is strong to keep it straight for more than a week or two. For straightening you really should go to the salon. If you mess it up you could fry your hair and it'll cost you a lot more money to get it fixed. You can also go to your local cosmetology school and the students do hair for free for credit to pass so they take their time and do a really good job most of the time. I hope whatever you decide to do it turns out looking great.
I am a dork I thought you ment chemically straightened.. Sorry!!

If you want good straighteners you're gona have to spend good money. I suggest instead of buying them all the time and having them break, save up for a while and invest in a really good pair. The best straighteners in the world are GHD's but I don't think you guys get them in the US, we get Chi over here and they are kind of similar to GHD's so I suggest them. Start saving lol

selectBrands 1" is really amazing- it sounds cheap but u can get it at target.com 4 15$. if that still sound cheap to you...even though it isn't... chi is also really good- like a chinease washable perm... but they're 80+$. u choose. but u can always return the 1st one.

Conair works really great. and they last a good amount of time. my sister had a Revlon and it broke after about 8 months. i have had mine for a little over 1 and a half years now. and it was only like 25 bucks. i love it!!!
