Hi! I have an e-coli uti due to a kidney stone I've had it since the beginning of Feb. medicine has not helped so I went to a urologist who wanted me to have an iv or shots for 10 days but since they don't do it in their office he faxed the order to my family care doctor who never contacted me, that was on Feb. 22. I just found this out today. Now I have to wait til Monday before I can do anything...I'm sick, I hurt real bad in my kidney and now it feels like the other one is beginning to hurt. I've had a headache for 2 days now and all I do is sleep. Today I noticed I had cellulitis on my leg which I have had several times. What should I do? I'm afraid maybe this could make me spetic but I dunno anything about this stuff...please a doctor or nurse please help? Thanks!

Thank you everyone for the advice! I had called ER and they said they couldn't tell me what to do because it was against the law. So I knew I'd get answers from you guys/gals. I am getting dress to go now.
Thank you all!

Well just in case any of you happen to check this I went to the hospital. The did a bunch of tests and confirmed that I did have a kidney stone and a uti with e-coli caused by the kidney stone moving around in there. They started me on iv antibotics, scaned my leg to make sure I had no clots and set me up to get iv antibotics daily as an outpaitent for the next 10 days. They did a cat scan and said other than the stone everything else looks fine...sigh of relief... The antibotics will heal my cellulitis too which is already beginning to loose some of its redness and theres no blood clot...Yay! Anyway, thank you all so so much, I wish I could grade them all best answers but they won't let me so I will thumbs up everyone instead:) Have a great one! Kellie

I'm not a Dr or nurse but I do know that you should get yourself to a hospital - it may not be serious but it could be - it is much safer to go seek medical help than to be talking to us go, go, go
good luck to you

I worked in a medical environment, and it sounds weird to me when you speak about e coli infection in kidneys. There are a lot of means to do, as antibiotics, or shattering stones with lazer type rays. Don't rush to operations, take your time, and gather different opinions from different doctors. I think you have kidney stones, which are easier to shatter than gall bladder stones.
Meanwhile, drink infusions prepared with parsley, cherry stems, corn filaments, and oat. Drink also infusion made from cranberries.

I would suggest driving to the emergency room. If you were supposed to get medication through IV or shots and you were not contacted back I believe it is serious enough to visit an emergency room. Bring with you the contact information of your doctors office so that they may send your chart information over.

Hi I'm neither a doc nor a nurse but I do know that if you are feeling like its more pain than usual--you should go into the emerg.

If nothing else, they can give you something for the pain.

E coli urosepsis is really bad and you can die from it. Go to the ER. When your doctor did not follow up with you to make arrangements for further treatment, you should have called him.

Definitely go to the hospital! Make sure you have all of your documentation from your previous doctor's visits, so that have a history of what has been occurring and therefore can treat you accordingly.
