I agree.....thee is no place in humanity for prejudice thinking.... It isn't what color, race, religion , or gender that you happen to be . What really matters is how you treat people that you understand the "All People were Created EQUAL"...... If people would stop looking at and condemning the differences, then we'd probably actually start to grow up as a race.... until then were screwed.....

When do you stop looking at skin color? During employment application? Admission to a university? For scholarship awarding? Or should it just be day to day personal interaction? MLK day is another day off with pay at some jobs, do we want to rob those folks of a day off? It's a nice concept that everyone would treat everyone else based on individual merit. Is it going to happen? I doubt it. Would I use an advantage I gained by being born with a different skin tone? You bet I would. Do I hold it against the folks that do? Nope. I personally deal with people on a one to one basis, not everyone does, and not all the racists are white. My advice is live your life the way you think is right, and expect to get crapped on by someone for the effort.

If we are going to do this, which I am totally for, then we need to stop having black history month and all of those holidays. If we all want treated the same then we should all be treated the same, I'm sorry but I never took and Indian's land and I never enslaved an African America, so I certainly WILL NOT treat them specially.
It is on the inside that counts so this world should all be evened out. I agree with you. I just thought I'd add my two cents.

I'm all for it! But how will this ever be a reality when there's a Black History Day, Black this and Black that? If you're going to single out things by race, do it for all of the races, or don't do it at all. All this does is keep races divided. Time to move on and be truly equal!

yeah, i think most people already know this and the ones that don't want to accept it are just racist and you can't really change their minds.
not being racist isn't about not looking at the colour of someones skin, it's about not caring what colour it is and not feeling any differently towards them for it.

you are quite right but rather than judge people by colour or creed i try and treat them as they treat me.i find this works quite well cos if they treat me bad they know what they have coming but if they treat me well they know they have a friend for life.
