You really want to know the truth to it all? Everyone on here is right to an extent, but the one thing that you look over is trace the money to the owners and you will see that the owners of all the international banking INCLUDING the Fed. Reserve, own it all and they are doing this stuff to get everyone use to the fact they are trying to gain the control of the green stuff that we work hard for and come to the cashless society all over the world and make more people poor so they can have the control of what is bought and sold and they make the profit!!! I know what your thinking but do your homework if your not too lazy and you will see who really owns everything in this world!!! Why do you think we are at war right now? Cause they are trying to force the oil there into their own hands and the Muslims won't go for it and are fighting it as hard as they can!!! Why do you think we went to Kosovo and Samolia? Diamond mines!!! Why did we go to Vietnam? Johnson's wife owned some diamond mines in the south and they couldn't let it be taken by the north now could they? You think the tree hugging hippies were all wrong? NO lol Reaserch it if you don't believe me!!! Later

Bottom line: it's a very banal mix of politics and robber baron greed--something We--the American People--really do need to address before matters go way out of hand.

Raise hell to your Washington D.C. elected officials? Yeah, right: they're the ones holding American Big Oil stock (and some OPEC stuff, too!!!). It's evident struggling Republican lobby interests WANT Iraq War to continue on--they're PROFITING big time from it (and a few Dems find it painful for war to end as well).

But the evident Republic message is:" You Democrats may end OUR war, but WE'll sock it to the People's pocketbooks and they'll come to hate you!!!" It is historic fact that in the 20 years of Republic political rule, we've put our Armed Forces in the fight against Mid-East Big Oil for control--starting with what of such control we currently hold in Iraq.

My suggestion? Hit Big Oil where it hurts....and get other American Big Lobbys against them too.

Organize: To a degree, this won't be a clear effort---but it CAN be enough to slap the politically empowered. 1) Americans cold stop buying NEW automobiles--and cite rising gas prices to anyone who will hear you. Let Detroit Motown Lobby get antsy at American Big Oil in D.C.---and enjoy the showdown ( it'll get UGLY). 2) Hard as this is, but is necessary: stay home this summer...hit local and NATIONAL tourist industry by cancelling any travel plans. Believe me--this can make network news and yet ANOTHER powerful lobby bites back on American Big Oil.

Then...there's the pleasing, but realistically strained idea: Hold a solid clear one day, where ALL non-emergency vehicle traffic for a 24 hour span of time---US NATIONWIDE--simply stops. Watch the oil lines back up.....and a message gets bullhorn sent to D.C.: "Don't mess with the Little Guy".

You'd be amazed at how easy organizing community groups--espicially in major metro cities--and getting such ideas planned and done this year. It'd also be fun to watch the greedy Big Lobby guys in D.C. actually duke it out against each other, too.

b/c rich oil tycoon fat cats like bush has this country by the balls. they have tight controls over the supply and they can manipulate the prices any way they want. the supply is there and prices change for no reason, like you said.
in fact, why do we use oil/ gasoline at all ? the modern engine was designed to run on vegetable oil and we can make 100% synthetic motor oil ?
I would love to switch to a better alternative and put those a##$oles out of business.
