I, too, was a former procrastinator. Logically, managing time wisely is the way to go, but, of course, that is easier said than done. What I did, and it may or may not work for you, was identify what caused me to procrastinate. For me, video games seemed much more enticing than doing a project. I gave up video games, and got to work. Now, if you MUST procrastinate, there IS a way to do it correctly. Say this is the final day before a project is do. What you want to do is work on it every spare moment you have, i.e. waiting for someone to pick you up from school. Now, depending on your project, you may or may not have to pull an all-nighter. You want to get home, work on that project until dinner. Then you take a break, and focus on relaxing. Go back to your project, and work for 1.5 hours. Take a 10 minute break. It's very easy to extend your break past 10 minutes, but try not to. Keep in mind you need sleep too, so about 2 hours of sleep will do. If you procrastinate on normal homework and not projects, do the homework on the bus before you arrive at school. Not only is it great time that you would otherwise be wasting, but you can also leech answers off your friends. Complete graded assignments before completion assignments, which are easy to BS. I have many more tips, but I hope these help.

Hey you're in good company as they have said procrastination is up something like 20% which is a major problem in the work force. Have you ever seen the book "Do One Thing Different"? It can help with this because sometimes you just need something to get you a kick start. It's simple to change one little thing every day so it won't feel difficult but it can help you see things differently which is often all you need. Try it! What have yo got to lose?

I do that too I admit -_-.
Remember if you keep your grade ups you will consequences of not getting into a good college, a higher degree, or a successful future. My chemistry teacher told me about 2 things to learn how about life, always follow instructions, and turn things by the deadline. Even though you are procrasinating, you should still try to do the work by telling yourself if you do not, give consequences to yourself as not to go on the computer, play outside, or watch tv. Also, keeep a planner near by, and right all your assigments that are due, and look back to it when you go home and do it. Call your friends up,a nd ask them what is due tomorrow, a test coming up, or a project waiting to be turn in. Ask your friends if you need help, or your teacher. Also if the computer is affecting you waste your time worthy and do something meaningful.
Hope it help.

well, this is called a habit lol. one way to stop procrastinating is to set your goal. try to hit the books right after school so you can get it over with. or if it's not due for long periods of days, split off the assignment and assign parts of for each day so you won't have to deal with so much.
or, you can work with a friend ! like a study group. go chill at barnes and nobel with a starbucks and study and do homework there. it's fun and you get your work done.
trust me. i procrastinated too much and i've been getting bad grades too, but setting a goal helps me aim and focus on it. i hope it helps(:

I'm like that too. I would suggest getting a scedular and putting what you're going ot do on it? When it's time to do something it will ring? It might help. Butif you don't want to use money, I think when you get home work on what you have to do and fun stuff later. I know it's not fun but it will pay off, you'll see.

When I went to school (not that long ago) I tried to use my time at school or on the way home from school to do homework. I would do homework on the bus or in the car on the way home. I would also do it while the teacher was giving lecture. They usually wrote assignments on the board before class started. This used to make teachers mad, but I'd rather spend my home time playing sports.

Write a TO DO list of what you need to do and in the order it needs to be done, then daily work at accomplishing the tasks required. By writing it down you don't have to worry about it as much, can refer to it easily and also commit to having to do it.

Maybe you have ADHD. Go to the doc and discuss this possibility. There are meds to improve the condition.

try rewarding yourself when you get something done. leave yourself notes as a reminder of what you need to do. the more organized you are the easier it will be to do the stuff you need to.
set yourself a goal everyday and try to get it done, then reward yourself when done
