Ok my friend who is 29 had a child when she was 20. She was married and her and her husband went to church every week. She wouldnt play cards with the gang and often helped her local church with "kid days" and such. She was married at 19 and in right before she turned 21 she had a baby. The kid (at age 8 now)is autistic and was observed to be autistic at an early age. My friend and her husband do some much for the kid, but its so sad to watch. Ive known her since i was 14 and she is the sweetest girl ever. The church has helped her for the past 5 years because her kid has been put in a special school that costs 70 grand a year. My friend and her husband are struggling to make it and i help them out from time to time even though i have no money. She still has faith in God and so does her husband, but its getting them no where and im not sure if they can even go another year without falling out. Why does God make people suffer if they love him? Why does he make mentally handicapped?

Hey rem.

This would take hours to properly discuss... here is the condensed version:

(Romans 5:12) 12 That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned—.

(Genesis 3:19) In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.”

So that is why we live in troubled times... Yet HOPE!

(Isaiah 35:5-6) 5 At that time the eyes of the blind ones will be opened, and the very ears of the deaf ones will be unstopped. 6 At that time the lame one will climb up just as a stag does, and the tongue of the speechless one will cry out in gladness. . . .

(Revelation 21:3-4) . . . With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

So soon all the sickness, wars, death will be gone...

What must we do??

(Mark 13:13) . . .But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.

Hope this helps?

Mike

Autism doesn't mean retarded. They are simply unreachable, in a world of their own. If we could figure out their language, we could interact with them the way we do with people without autism. I am not Christian but I would guess that a Christian would tell you that "god works in mysterious ways" or "the young man was put there and given autism to test the faith of the parents." (I assume it is a boy because most people with autism are male.) Its no help though. Have they tried getting money from the school district and SSI?

here is an exerpt from my favourite reply ever found at http://www.chabad.org/library/article.asp?AID=362221 :

"These special souls remind us that true love doesn't need a reason. We often love others for what they give us -- we love our children because they are cute, smart, and high achievers; we love our spouse for the pleasure and contentment they give us; we love our parents because they care for us. This is love, but it is not pure.

When a child is born that will never achieve worldly success, cannot provide the usual source of pride for her parents, all extraneous reasons to love her fall away and what's left is the purest love that there can be. These children are lovable not because of what they do for you, and not because of what they will one day become, but simply because they are.

These pure souls remind us what love should be. Only such a pure and holy soul can elicit such a pure and holy emotion. We can only stand in awe of them, and the parents and friends who care for them. And we can only thank them all, for giving us a glimpse of what true love really means."

In this world, things are not meant to be perfect because of our sin. Only in the afterlife will things be perfect for believers.

Is the measure of the amount of money someone has determine to you how good they are doing in life?
