I have worked in construction and we had to use electric tools that sometimes got wet or left out and rained on!! They tell you that so they can't be sued (unfortunatly people do that sort of thing)!! I will say though, as long as you let it air out COMPLETELY before pluging it in and trying to see if it still works then everything should be ok!! Look at it this way, water is a very good conduit for electricity!!! If the water is there it can cause the current to jump out of the loop it was ment to travel!! If water is not there then it will go the rout it was designed to take in the first place!! We saved many tools by just letting them dry VERY WELL before we used them again and they still worked fine!! (pay attention to the stressed words in my answer)

you can try it, I would let it dry out a little longer. i don't think you will electrocute yourself unless you are standing in a puddle of water trying to use it. just be careful. next time put the seat down ;)
