If all he has is a fever, just let it go. Fevers are the body's way of getting rid of infections and other nasties. Unless he's in pain or the fever gets very high (105 or above), don't even bother with the tylenol or advil. Reducing the fever lets whatever his body is fighting take hold and he can get sicker for a longer period of time. I learned the hard way one year by spending over $40 in one week on OTC remedies for 2 of my kids' colds. Took them 2 weeks to get over it. Next time I did nothing but make sure they drank and had some reduced sugar or sugar free popcicles and they were over it in days, not weeks. I hope he feels better soon.

first of all the most important thing is How High is it? You know the brain cooks at 108.
Have you tried some Children's Tylonol every so many hours this sounds simple and it really works - shower your child, if not with a damp small towel go over his head, arms it really does help. Just monitor it, and if it last more than 2-3 days then its really important to take the child to the dr.
What happends is My son had 104 and was admitted to the hospital and he had pnomonia. It was the scariest time of my life.
What's happening is that your child has some kind of infection and the bodys first response is a fever to try to kill the germs. If it last longer than 2 days take your child in they could really be sick and their so young its hard for them to really articulate how they are truly feeling.

I'm sure you've tried Tylenol or Motrin. Be sure to keep him well hydrated. If he won't drink, you could give him Popsicles or jello. Give him a luke warm bath...not cold. Try a cool cloth on his head or neck. Lots of rest. If the fever last more than 24 hours or is accompanied by cough, rash, sore throat, diarrhea or vomiting you need to see his pediatrician. It could just be a mild fever that will go away on its own in a few hours. Good luck.

first step isn't to run to the doctor.
treat the fever with Tylenol every 4 hrs. if it is higher than 102.9, you can also give him Advil every 6 hrs. don't bundle him -tshirt, diaper, socks, and a light blanket only. give him lots of fluids like Pedialyte, water, juice, and popsicles. let him play in the bath alot.
if the fever doesn't go down using these techniques, then you should take him to the doctor as he may need antibiotics.

First off, how high is the fever? At least call the doctor and ask them what to do, tell them how high it is and if you should treat it with tylenol or not. Until then you can give him a tepid bath. (kinda cool but not not so cold that he wont like it) Put a cool washcloth of his head. Is there any other symptoms?

Give him tylenol and motrin. Like now give him tylenol and 4 hrs later give him motrin. My kids pediatricin always says dose them according to their weight not age. And give him plenty of fluids. NO MILK OR DAIRY OF ANY KIND!! And then give him a luke warm bath, Hope he feels better soon. And if the fever doesnt go away you should take him to the doc.

I have a son same age, and when he gets a fever (twice so far) I give him childrens tylenol and pedia-lite. The fever usually goes away within 15 minutes. The pedia-lite is good for re-hydrating him. G-bless and Good Luck

My 8 month old little girl just got over being sick with fever and we gave her Infant Motrin. Make sure it is the one for children under 2. And I found that Popsicles are the easiest way to help keep them hydrated.
